Do you wish you had straighter teeth? One of the best treatments to achieve this is with clear aligners. Not only will they improve your smile quicker than traditional braces, but they’ll also provide a discreet process so you can still show off your pearly whites. But can you still get them if you have crowns, bridges, or veneers? Read on to learn what you should expect from your options!

Can You Get Clear Aligners with Crowns?

It can be challenging to get traditional metal braces if you have a dental crown. You might even require the use of different adhesives to guarantee your tooth is stable enough to shift throughout your orthodontic process. With clear aligners, however, you won’t have to worry about needing any adhesives, making the treatment more ideal for those with crowns.

Can You Get Clear Aligners with Dental Bridges?

Dental bridges are designed to be set in place via the support of the adjacent natural teeth on either side of the gap. If there’s too much force applied to your restoration, then it can become damaged. For this reason, you most likely won’t be able to undergo clear aligner treatment or any other orthodontic process. However, this can still be an option if your alignment issue isn’t severe, and your supporting teeth don’t need to be shifted. If so, then you might require a new bridge after completing your clear aligner treatment.

Can You Get Clear Aligners with Veneers?

Since veneers can improve the appearance of your entire smile, they can also make your teeth seem perfectly straightened. By undergoing traditional orthodontic treatment, you might change the intended look of your cosmetic results in the process. This is why veneers tend to be placed after wearing braces, especially since the metal brackets can damage the porcelain shells. In this case, clear aligners may be a better option for you since they won’t be fixed to your teeth and are less likely to harm your veneers in the long run.

Having dental restorations or veneers doesn’t automatically disqualify you from getting clear aligners. Be sure to schedule a consultation with your dentist if you’re interested, and they’ll be happy to discuss and create a treatment plan that best suits your needs!
